Join us every Friday at ICC Des Plaines Masjid as we delve into one of the greatest works of Muslim Spirituality: Imam Ghazali’s, Ihya Ulum al-Din, (Revival of the Religious Sciences). I believe the ancient adage that the way to a mans heart is through his stomach. That being said, I like cooking meals for my boyfriend and taking care of him in general. In that sense I’m an ancient fashined gal. Being independent and self sufficient are also vital to me. I have a full time & a part time job on the weekends. This, I suppose makes me modern. Is there a difference between “Lust” and “Sensuality”?

Scripture would have us believe we need to be “pure”, but was sensuality given to woman, as just one of the ways to keep a man interested within a relationship?

Are men frightened of woman’s sensuality?

I am asking in the religious threads because sensuality may have a greater “influence” as to why men and woman marry, or become attracted to each other.

So who would deem sensuality as a sin?

Many comments within some scriptural passages do tend to “demean” womans’ natural sensual self … Is this a form of gender racism within scripture?

Psychology Study of Men’s Perceptions of Women…?

There’s this study in psychology that showed that women who looked at two pictures of the same man, one where the man looked more masculine, and another where the same man looked more femenine (eyebrows plucked, different lighting, etc), they associated the feminine-like attributes to more family-oriented mates and the masculine ones as a male that they would go out with but they would not expect to commit to a relationship.
I was just wondering, has there been a similar study done with women. How do men (consiously or sub-consiously) view women who look ultra-feminine versus women with more subtle stereotypically male features (slightly larger nose, unplucked eyebrows, etc)
Need this for psych. h.w.

Lemme add that the only reason women reckon the more masculine man would be less relationship-oriented is b/c they are stereotypically male (and the male is meant to not necessarily “stay-at-home” whereas stereotypically HIGHLY feminine women, they would fit the role of stay-at-home, wouldn’t they? It doens’t mean it would just be opposite where the highly feminine women wouldn’t be relationship material…See what I mean? That’s my hypothesis but in that case, how would less-feminine women be viewed? We all know males aren’t looking to settle, yet they seek the most feminine looking women…wouldn’t they go for, using that reasoning, the less-feminine looking women? (bear with me here, I know that sounds kind of out-there, but…)

There three very vital differences between men and women; it is up to you to list them. After you have listed those three differences I want to you to jot down the worst thing a woman can do to a man and a man can do to a woman.
Clue: the second part of my question has a lot to do with the first part of my question.
