Q&A: On intelligent women “intimidating men”?
Question by : On intelligent women “intimidating men”?
When a woman who is genuinely intelligent says this, is she really saying “The hot, aggressive type of guy I fantasize about is intimidated by extremely intelligent women.”? I’m not talking about women who reckon they are intelligent but aren’t. There are plenty of those (and men as well).
In an earlier question I mentioned a friend of mine who was a brilliant software engineer who pretends to be dumb in many cases. What I didn’t mention is that she’s quite a cute girl. Quite a bit above average, really. As such, she can afford to be very selective in choosing which men to date. Outside romance novels and the wet dreams of women, Dr. McDreamy and Nobel Peace Prize laureates who moonlight as Calvin Klein underwear models are pretty rare. Attractive people, no matter who intelligent or thoughtful they are, still want to date someone who is roughly their equivalent, or better. I feely admit that I’ve plenty of dumb, jocky, excellent looking guys who outright said they didn’t want a woman who was exceptionally intelligent or independent. And this is our problem.
If you’re a guy like me, you’re not intimidated by a woman with the intellect to be a Chemistry Professor or something like that. It’s really quite a turn on. But, my friend may be “out of my league” so speak. The problem for these women starts if they are as attractive as my friend, then expect to find a “hot” guy who is also equally or nearly as intelligent as she is.
Is this incorrect or right or somewhere in between?
Dude – yeah, and how many Dr. McDreamies do you know in real life? Exactly. My friend is the ONLY woman I’ve ever, ever known who was both extraordinarily intelligent and a real head turner. Sure, there are plenty cute girls who are smart and clever, but I’m talking about exceptional.
People like this are probably one in 500,000 or so.
Spectre – this is somewhat right. My dad is a physician and I’ve seen his medical yearbook. Plenty of normal, even looking kids but I see them today and well, yeah.

Since the dawn of times wars have been waged for various reasons, some more noble than others and some not noble at all. But wherever there is a war, and no matter what the risks, there are young men who are more then willing to sign up to fight.

I reckon men get in the way of real progress.
When women rule the world it’ll be so much simpler. Women are mothers. Thus, we don’t have a vested interest in anything other than ensuring our offspring are raised well.

We need a community service? Let’s build one together.

I have dated a few women and it seems to be right. Why? Yet, women expect men to be the opposite of this.
I have sole custody of my kids. Their mother has not been in their lives for the last 7 months and I am working on having her right as a parent revoked. So, why would this bother a woman?
She would expect me to deal with her kids and ex.
I am in my mid 30s and my kids are 11 and 7. I am very involved with them. I have only dated women with children. At my age most women are divorced with kids. I realize this and to me its no huge deal.

I reckon it is somewhat right. It depends on if the woman has children of her own or not. I know myself personally that it would be complications for me, because I am not ready to take in children yet….. especially children that aren’t mine.

There’s not really a huge difference, every person is different to the other in some way. But I guess girls are sweeter and more caring and boys are the oppisite?

You’re nearly right in your definition of what feminism is, allow me to right it for you.
Feminism is about gender equality so women get all the benefits/privileges men have/had in addition to, while withholding those privileges/benefits women have/had.
IOW, it’s only about putting women AT LEAST equal (if not BETTER) than men while leaving men the scraps.
