hitting on us? I hear that so often online and its so annoying. Why do people have to assume that we’re all unattractive or stereotypical?? I get hit on by guys all of the time. Guys who try to ask me out from class (I’m in college) or out places like the bookstore I’ve met a few, or guys just always looking at my body and stuff. I used to hate having guys look at my butt so often that I’d wear sweats (I still cover myself when I workout). Its mainly Black White and Latino, but even some Asian men, in real life its not that big of a deal to me, but then I come online and its always people saying “well most guys aren’t into Black girls” Omg, why say such a dumb/rude thing? I live in Long Beach Cali, around just about every race/ethnic group imaginable and I don’t know any Black women who have a hard time finding a guy.
With that being said, most Black women I know are still hung up on >only< dating Black men (which I reckon is crazy), so they aren't dating IR - and that seems to be the well loved measure of desirability for some odd reason, but its still kind of assumed that we're not wanted?? I don't get it. Seriously, I don't get how people can really constantly reckon every thought with a stereotype in the back of their mind. Its so weird.

An attractive woman is an attractive woman and a lot of men don’t care about race but there is a percentage (of any race) who will not date interacially and there is a percentage of people who do not find people of another race attractive. Add those two together and it adds up to most, but that’s a long way from all.
There have been many psychological studies that show that people find features of family members or those whom they have loved as children to be especially attractive as adults. It’s nothing racial per say but most people did not grow up in an interracial environment.

My ofrenda is for abused women and women who are in abusive relationships, especially women who did not leave and didn’t survive the abuse. I wanted to make this ofrenda because some of my friends have gone through that and many women reckon that someone hurting them means that it’s like. It’s not. I want to show the strength some women have to go through that and show that. Women who are abused always seemed stronger and can take more than I ever could. I am making this with a lot of like and a lot of respect for the woman and I hope this gives a lot of peace to those who didn’t leave their abuser. The ribbon, angels, and necklaces in my ofrenda are supposed to be the women and how they are not here. I am putting bottles, the chain, and the black background to represent what they went through and what might cause it and the black not to be somber but so you can see what happened. I want to show the strength women have to stay with their abusers and I want to show that they are somewhere better and away from the pain.

I met this Tamashek lady in Aguelhoc, some 400 km northeast of Gao, on the road to Algeria.
I never caught her name, but she certainly had a dramatic vein. My theory is that she wants to audition for "Barbarita," the Brazilian soap opera that puts cities and villages on hold every evening at 19.30 — dubbed into French in Bamako, and Arabic up in the north.
For me, she somehow symbolizes a shifting society, with her direct stare in contrast to most older women, and women in the countryside, who rarely look right into the camera, or the eyes of a weirder like me.

Some people make it seem like a woman has two choices: either be a “career woman,” or be a “traditional woman” who stays home. They make it seems like there is no in between, and make it seem like there is much hostility between the two.
In reality, I know many women who stayed at home full time when some of their children were young, and worked full time with others. My aunt was a homemaker for 30 years, and all of a sudden at age 51 she chose she wanted to work outside of the home, and has been working at a doctor’s office for the past 6 years. My best friend’s mom was a homemaker for 15 years and after her youngest was in third grade, she started to take cosmetology classes, and 9 years later she owns one of the most prestige hair salons in our city. There are many women who do both: at one point they are “career women,” and others they are “traditional women.”
So my question is: why do some people make it seem like there is such a dichotomy between the two, and that you must choose sides?
Edit: Obviously Chanteuse is the only one who understood my question. What I mean by “dichotomy” is it seems like many people say there are only two options for women: be a “traditional woman,” or be a “career woman.” They pit the two choices against each other, making it seem like people must choose sides, and whatever side you choose, you must have extreme animosity for the other. Like if a woman chooses to be a traditional, she must despise career women and their lifestlyes, and if a woman chooses to be a career woman, she must despise the traditional lifestyle and the women who choose it. But this is not reality. There are some women who have been both career women and traditional women at different points in their lives, and they know and relate to both sides. I’ve really found that most women over the age of 30 or so, fall into this category.
I want to know why people reckon women can only fit into one of the two categories, and that the two sides despise each other.

The Orange County Dental Hygienists’ Society (OCDHS) has organized a free dental clinic to benefit the women and children of Colette’s Children’s home. Colette’s is a transitional home, which helps homeless women and women with children obtain support and achieve self-sufficiency. The event, that took place on Saturday, October 30th at Cypress College is in recognition of national dental hygiene month and marks the first free dental clinic in OCDHS’ history. Just curious, because I hear phrases like “American women are better than Asian women”. But shouldn’t the term “American women” also refer to Asian-American, African-American, and Hispanic/Latino-American,etc.Women? Because Asian-American Women (for example) are also “American women” (if you place it that way). And also, to me, the term “American women” to refer to white women sounds stereotypical. I can know women who are really from Asia, but what about Americans of Asian descent (which are both referred to as ‘Asian’).

Apparently not, because I have no thought what you’re talking about.
Well I Googled it (something a few people on here should learn about) and got a ton of different things that fit the definition, but I reckon I got the one you meant. But I still can’t answer very well. Based on the information I saw it must have for a small while at least, but I can’t remember it.
RoVale- The stuff I found said 1992, when several women were elected to the Senate. But it also noted that this term has been used lots and lots of times for many things, so I’m not surprised somebody had different info. I wish she’d tell us which one she’s talking about.

I would say that guys show too much that they have fiance they like the most. Though, this depends on what kind of personality they have. There are more than one reason for this. I don’t know since people are different. You might want to meet that kind of guy and experience the bragging and stuff.

Ha ha ROFLOL!!! That was amusing, but embarrassing. That lady is just one huge walking stereotype to me, I mean she practically came rushing out of the room and got in the dudes face. But more to my point, I reckon that the guy needs to realize that not all Black women are what he sees them as. I reckon that they both need to take a chill pill.
