Just curious, because I hear phrases like “American women are better than Asian women”. But shouldn’t the term “American women” also refer to Asian-American, African-American, and Hispanic/Latino-American,etc.Women? Because Asian-American Women (for example) are also “American women” (if you place it that way). And also, to me, the term “American women” to refer to white women sounds stereotypical. I can know women who are really from Asia, but what about Americans of Asian descent (which are both referred to as ‘Asian’).

Apparently not, because I have no thought what you’re talking about.
Well I Googled it (something a few people on here should learn about) and got a ton of different things that fit the definition, but I reckon I got the one you meant. But I still can’t answer very well. Based on the information I saw it must have for a small while at least, but I can’t remember it.
RoVale- The stuff I found said 1992, when several women were elected to the Senate. But it also noted that this term has been used lots and lots of times for many things, so I’m not surprised somebody had different info. I wish she’d tell us which one she’s talking about.

Orange County Dental Hygienists’ Society Free Dental Clinic 2010
The Orange County Dental Hygienists’ Society (OCDHS) has organized a free dental clinic to benefit the women and children of Colette’s Children’s home. Colette’s is a transitional home, which helps homeless women and women with children obtain support and achieve self-sufficiency. The event, that took place on Saturday, October 30th at Cypress College is in recognition of national dental hygiene month and marks the first free dental clinic in OCDHS’ history. Cypress College Dental Hygiene and Assisting Program, local dentists, dental hygienists, and dental assistants came together to offer their skills and services for free. Cypress College has opened its doors to allow a place for treatment, dental companies have donated supplies, and volunteers from all over Orange County are offered their hearts and hands to make this event possible. I thought that was just something teenage girls did, but I’ve seen tons of women write that to other women in the Parenting section. I can know using “honey” and “sweetheart” when you’re trying to be sympathetic and kind, but most of the time the moms are just using it to patronize and condescend. This hasn’t happened to me here, so I’m not venting or making a personal vendetta, I just really don’t know why women act this way. I am a teenager, and had hoped adult women would have grown up out of that passive aggressive nonsense. Or are the the moms on here really young and not quite grown up themselves? I don’t even see too many teens doing it, but I just read an answer on here where one mom ridiculed another mom and called her sweetie when it was clear that what she really meant was beyotch. I get that you can’t swear here, but I mean, why not just leave the sweetie off instead of forcing a frilly pink dress on an ugliness? Why can’t girls and women just be more like men and say what we mean straight-on instead of sugar-coating acid? Ideally the first choice would be diplomatically express yourself, but failing that, just saying what you really mean instead of using passive aggressive tactics would be more logical to me.

I’ve noticed that many women (here in GS) will refer to women as “women” while referring to men (in the same sentence) as “males.”
Having seen the pattern repeat itself many times among the women here, I now wonder if there isn’t a deliberate effort to dehumanize men by referring to them as “males”

I wasn’t really paying attention when that fad started, and as far as I am aware it didn’t hang around long. Right me if I’m incorrect, but was this done to try to remove the word “men” from “women” and not have women be seen as some kind of derivative of men?
If you still do this, please clarify. It never occured to me personally that women as some kind of sub-class of men until this whole “womyn” thing came up.
