A Liberated Woman from the Ghetto, a woman production, depicts the identity that many women of African descent struggle with due to the multitude of transitions in their lives. After inheriting a background of slavery, plantation life, segregated laws for over 285 laws and stages of Jim Crow, identity certainly had to be a gigantic concern. The author ably demonstrates the major points with the use of laughter to blunt the cruel paradoxes. She impersonates her husband, which is a bit clever, sin

Why is it that the same Feminists…?

by Spinstah

Question by The Huge Cheese: Why is it that the same Feminists…?
who claim they are trying to liberate women from traditional female gender roles, still believe men should adhere to traditional chivalrous expectations, such as treating women “like a lady”, being a gentleman, how a guy is never supposed to hit a girl but the reverse is perfectly fine, etc.? And how come you never Feminists, or even men for that matter, complaining that the fact that men are the last to the lifeboats when a ship is sinking or are forced to enlist in the selective service is a sign of “The Matriarchy”?
Right X. But don’t assume I’m an MRA just because I oppose Feminism.
Obviously we men don’t treat each other “like a lady”, so how would treating a woman like a lady be equality?
It’s all excellent X. I just reckon it’s kinda amusing that I made a really excellent point right now, and all the Feminists that rant on about men being oppressors having an advantage are suddenly not answering my question….
Your spontaneous small poems are amusing Lt. Obvious, but it’s the hypocrisy that annoys me, not the manners.

Best answer:

Answer by X
Some of these people are so pathetic, both feminists and MRAs, dont even listen to ‘em.

EDIT: Oh not at all mate, I don’t reckon you are an MRA. Its just that some MRA’s constantly rip on women for no reason, just like feminists to do men…

Q&A: I cannot understand my people…HEEEEELP!?

by RandomSaxophonist

Question by BaldisBeautiful: I cannot know my people…HEEEEELP!?
Hey everyone!

So this past friday i took a giant leap and cut ALL my hair off. That’s right, I went GI Jane – ironically i am in the army, but that’s a coincidence!. After years of coloring, relaxing/perming, and hairspray, and curling-iron burns i chose to do my huge chop. My husband wasn’t keen on the thought, but now he likes it, says it makes me look “exotic” – as if i weren’t before ;)

So i go to work and get rave reviews, my coworkers (all of whom are white) adored my new cut. They keep saying how cute/exotic/liberated/model-like i look. Patients (again, white) complement me to no end – solidifying my own thoughts on my new cut.
But when i see friends at the ER i used to work at (all black like myself) they scold that i had “excellent hair” or “long hair for a black woman” and shouldn’t have cut it. A guy (black) even said that i had “extra points” for having naturally long (bra-length) hair.wow

all that matters is that i luvluvluv my new cut – so does hubby, but why the negative feedback from my own people?

Best answer:

Answer by RJ
If you like your new hair style and your pleased with it, who cares that you have a few negative bits of feedback. You don’t style your hair for the benefit of others but for you.

What do you reckon? Answer below!

Q&A: EGYPTIAN WOMAN: A HEROIC ACTION!!!!?

by imago

Question by Scorpius: EGYPTIAN WOMAN: A HEROIC ACTION!!!!?
this tale took place during Jeursalem’s war, while Sultan Saladin’s reign, i want to have your comments, and what have you learnt of it?!!!.

Immediately after Sultan Saladin prepared his Army to face the Crusaders in order to liberate Jeursalem, Egyptian women gathered and went in hundreds to the Castle of the wonderful Sultan. Saladin thought it is some kind of womanly protest, and wondered, then the women said to Saladin ” O Fantastic Sultan, we want to go with you “. Saladin answered ” But we are in no need for your bodies in such a war, our men’s bodies are enough!!! “.

What did these fantastic women do?!!!

twent back and after couple of days they returned again, but this time they all were bald as men, carrying all their cut hairs and gave it to Saladin and said ” We have been searching, and found nothing more, we can offer to participate in liberating Jeursalem, and fighting in the Name of Allah, except our hairs, take it thou Fantastic Sultan, make bridles with our hairs to the horses, so that Knights fighting in Allah’s Name hold it with their hands “.

And Saladin accepted the gift from the Egyptian Women, and after he defeated the Crusaders, and restored Jeursalem back, he returned to Egypt and made his Speech and said ” My fellow muslims, today we won, with Allah’s Will, and with the hairs of the Egyptian Women ”

So, all respects and honors to the Egyptian Woman
and sorry for ignoring and deliberatly neglecting her honorable and dignifying role in Islam

Best answer:

Answer by Lily
So how come the Sultan praised the Egyptian women back then and the men today do not acknowledged them as much?
Dose that mean the Egyptian men are getting dumber?
I am not sure what we are ment to get from the tale, I do not believe you will like my honest answer.
Can you tell me what you got from it, as an Egyptian man?

Question by muslim-doctor: Do you know anyone who recently came to islam?

http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?section=all_article&topicid=39

Incredible Interview with a 14 years ancient new Muslimah !

The way she speaks is really impressive .. after my conversation with her .. I thought that I must tell her the fact that she is very mature .. please read her words .. and distribute it .. read the tale now !

IslamWay.com:
Dear Sister .. As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatu Allah sister , first of all .. Congratulations for accepting Islam

Sara:
wa alaikum assalam, thank-you

IslamWay.com:
Can you give us brief information about yourself ?

Sara:
My name is Sara, I am 14 years ancient and in high school. I live in the U.S.

IslamWay.com:
Welcome sister Sara .. I’m really amazed to see someone in your age searching for the truth .. let me admit that .. Can you tell us .. how did you know about Islam for the first time in your life ?

Sara:
Yes, the first time I heard about Islam was about 3 years ago, I was curious about God and religion and wanted to know what others believed. I started reading different materials and read about Islam. I was amazed by how much sense it made.

IslamWay.com:
Isn’t it kind of weird to start reading about religions when you were 11 years ancient .. is there is any special thing that you have other than other kids around you ?

Sara -smiling-:
I suppose it is weird to read about religion at 11, most my friends didn’t know how I could be so interested in finding God. My family is Christian, and I have been raised in religion, so it seemed only natural for me to study religion thoroughly and choose on my own what the truth was.

IslamWay.com:
Did you read the Quran ?

Sara:
Not at that time, no.

IslamWay.com:
“A Muslim woman is oppressed and needs to be librated like the western women” .. do you have a comment about this ?

Sara:
It saddens me that so many people in the world today believe that Muslim women are oppressed. I believe that we are the most liberated women on earth! To follow the guidelines Allah has given us is the most liberating thing any woman can do.

IslamWay.com:
Well .. from what you see in the west .. are the women there librated ?

Sara:
No, most women in the west are oppressed. We are used as sex symbols. Most women wear outfits that barely cover them, they use their bodies to get attention. We are expected to have ‘perfect’ bodies by the media’s standards, we are supposed to look and act a certain way, and we are expected to do whatever the media tells us to do, and that is to disrespect ourselves and Allah.

IslamWay.com:
So did you wear the hijab ?

Sara:
No I do not. I want to very much, but my family is unaware that I converted to Islam, and I will wear the hijab after I tell them.

IslamWay.com:
You reckon that you will have problems with them after telling them ?

Sara:
I’m not sure. I supose I am allowing my dread to keep me from telling them.

IslamWay.com:
I see .. Just question Allah to give your the power and the patience to take this step .. and I guess all Muslims who are reading this interview now will make du’a for you to ease things in sha Allah ..

IslamWay.com:
What is the thing you liked most in the Muslims community ?

Sara:
I admire the dedication Muslims have to Islam, there is an incredible peace and grace that Allah gives to those who serve him as completely as they can. To many it may seem hard to follow Allah’s guidelines, but Allah gives every Muslim an incredible strength to help them. What I liked most about the Muslims I met was how friendly and caring they were.

IslamWay.com:
“Most of Muslims nowadays are not practicing Muslims .. ” first of all .. what do you feel about that ? And is that why Islam is not spreading too quick ? And what would you say to a none pracitcing Muslim ?

Sara:
1) I firmly believe that the statement “Most Muslims nowadays are not practicing Muslims .. ” is fake. I do not believe you can truly be Muslim without being a ‘practicing Muslim’. Islam isn’t just a religion, it’s a way of life. That’s one of the many things I like about it.
2) Islam is one of the fastest growing religions in the world, I believe the reason for this is that people see the truth in it, and when they choose to live to serve Allah, they are given an incredible happiness and grace that others see and admire, that is what draws people to Islam.
3) Trust Allah, serve him completely, and he will give you the grace, peace, and happiness you need to be a ‘practicing Muslim’.

IslamWay.com:
What is your future plans ? Your dreams ?

Sara:
I’ve always had a dream: To become a leader in our world and once again help establish peace and excellent relations between different people.

IslamWay.com:
Do you have any plans for learning arabic ?

Sara:
Yes. i LOVE languages. It’s something that i delight in very much, and my parents support my Arabic education, I will hopefully start taking a language course this Fall. My dad lived in an Arabic speaking country for years, and so he would help me study.

IslamWay.com:
oh i see .. which country ?

Sara:
Sudan (in Africa)

IslamWay.com:
Can you tell us in details how did you revert to Islam ?

Sara:
I had originally heard about Islam about 3 years ago, my parents found out that I was reading about it and discouraged me from doing so, studying it much further. Then last Fall I started highschool at a new school that has a lot of Muslim students.
When I first started going there I remembered my studying and was curious about how they would act. My parents had told me Muslims were horrible mean, militant, abusive people. So I kind of expected them to be that way, I was incorrect! The first couple of friends I made there were Muslims.
They were nice, friendly, caring people. I remember them talking about their God, and I was amazed by how much they loved Islam. I started very quickly started respect them, and quickly became very curious about their beliefs. A friend of mine questioned them about Islam one day, and it turned into a several hour long conversation about Allah, and Islam, and daily life. I was suprised by how much sense it all made, and how pleased they were. I started reading the Qur’an and looking for more information on the internet, and soon after I said the shahadah and converted to Islam. I’m still amazed by how pleased and peacefull my life is. Allah has given me much strength in every day life. Inshallah my parents will see this.

IslamWay.com:
In sha Allah .. May Allah reward you sister for your time .. and may Allah keep you in the right path .. Amen .. As-salamu alaykum

Sara:
wa alaikum assalam, thank-you

How do I get over someone I love?

by Tobias Higbie

Question by Eclipse6101: How do I get over someone I like?
I’ve known this guy for years. Things click whenever we spend time together and when we talk over the phone it’s the same. Simple, relaxed, engaging but it appears life has other plans for us. Our paths cross ever so often but not long enough to establish a serious relationship. I can’t even start to clarify my feelings for him. I’m a relatively rational person but with him I become this “woman” that is open…I feel liberated as if the time I spend with him is where I’m suppose to be. I’m not sure if I’m making sense. I don’t see how things will work out in the future for us b/c the chances of us running into each other again is slim yet I feel so much for him it’s at times unbearable. How do I get pass this stage? Should I even bother trying to forget him?

Best answer:

Answer by AiJlove21
Sometimes like never goes away it just gets less intense over time. Trying to find someone new would make the most sence. You will probably never get over this person if you truley loved them. but hey if your feelings were really that strong, fate will bring you too together. Untill then focus on more vital things like work or school. Time will heal everything for you like you said it’s a stage, that’s all.

Why are there divisions for male and female clothing?

Question by GeoMan: Why are there divisions for male and female clothing?
I’m sure I’m not the only guy out there who has ever considered wearing a woman’s jacket before. Lots of women can delight in wearing men’s clothing without any social stigma, but if a guy wore a skirt to school he’d end up in the Principal’s office.

Some places in the world, like the malls in China, have both “men” and “women” clothing mixed in together. You can see both men and women trying on the same shoes and such. It was quite a liberating experience while I shopped there.

Do you reckon they’ll ever do that here?

Book Blog 5: Tied to the Kitchen Sink

“Barefoot, pregnant, and tied to the kitchen sink” is a well loved phrase that depicts the sorry state of the traditional housewife. Feminism liberated women from these supposed “shackles” and encouraged us to get out of the house. But the Bible says that constantly being “out and about” is a mark of a Girl Gone Wild…”her feet do not stay at home.” Yikes! Does that mean that God dooms women to a barefoot, tied-to-the-kitchen-sink existence? Find out in Mary Kassian’s Girls Gone Wise video book blog.

Woman US President? oxymoron! ~

Controversy is the best way to describe the subject of the video – I’m only trying to open your mind… If you truly want a woman president, then this may cause you to become even more fervent for such a movement. I don’t care/I stand where I stand. DISCLAIMER Take everything said here with a grain of salt, it is meant to provoke. I am not a politician and I do not try to be one. Politics is about capitalism, materialism and egotism. Its a struggle for power on the most greedy level and inevitably it can corrupt the best of individuals. So its a perilous arena. Even when the rules of the game are perfect, it is one of the most hard challenge to become a worthy and right government leader. I am being rather narrow-minded in my statements in the video. Yet I do know and really somewhat believe in those principles… its just that this area, this subject is not my favorite. I have never voted and never will. A fake “Jew” Rabbi (a kenite, a son of cain) admits their god is lucifer Thanks to youtube users “QueenyCameron” and “axe414″ for the upload! Stated by “axe414″ Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Pastor Wickstrom interview Rabbi Finkelstein. Finkelstein admit it all! The God of the Zionists Talmudists and KABBALISTS is LUCIFER. I just found some more information about this Rabbi. His full name is Abe Finkelstein and is supposedly an affiliate of the Chabad Lubavich and religious advisor to the Plymouth Rock Institute of Research. Aaron Cohen from ”The Cohen report” wrote about Pastor Wickstrom and Finkelstein.. He is a Zionist too and admit there was an interview.. He dosen’t speak about the content of this interview.. Speaks about some legal issue between the two.. By the way you shouldn’t believe everything this luciferian says… He’s promoting white supremacism which is from the devil. Don’t believe the lies of satan… We, or ANYONE are saved only by calling on the Name of Jesus Christ! Whether black or white or yellow or green! I’m tired of all of you proud racists. No one is better than anyone else. Even those

GILBERT O`SULLIVAN – A Stranger In My Own Back Yard – Four Video Special !

A compliation of four videos of tracks from Gilbert`s fourth album A STRANGER IN MY OWN BACK YARD released by MAM in 1974 . Featuring the songs THE MARRIAGE MACHINE , A WOMANS PLACE , MY FATHER and ALWAYS SOMEBODY . The song A WOMANS PLACE was very controversial at the time – but don`t take it too seriously , Gilbert was just having fun and the lyrics are not his real beliefs ! Remember ` Womens Lib` was in the news at the time and this was a light-hearted look at how SOME men felt about it !
