Does he have to invite everyone at the office?
Question by Newlywed!: Does he have to invite everyone at the office?
Ok, there are 3 people who work with him at the office (2 ladies and a nice man), plus the boss and his wife (which makes 5 ppl)..
1 of the people is an ancient woman whom he shares the office with, he always says he doesn’t like her at all.. But still feels obligated to invite her to our wedding..
I keep telling him he doesn’t have to invite people that he doesn’t like, is our wedding and of course i only want people who are vital to us…
But he says is “office politics”.. Does he have to invite her? What should i do if i don’t want to pay an extra $ 70 for someone who isn’t even vital?? plus we’d probably have to let her come with someone, which would make it about $ 140..
Is he right? Does he even have to invite the ppl at the office or just the bosses and the other man he really likes??
How can i make him know??
39 minutes ago – 4 days left to answer.
Additional Details
I know, but he just doesn’t know it.. I’ve tried telling him that we don’t have to in many ways, but he says he feels obligated.. again “office politics”.. how can he do it when he gives out invitations?? just skip her??

Answer by The Divine Bubba Blue
He doesn’t have to, but remember that if that “ancient woman” will have him fired if he doesn’t, he may feel it necessary to do so.
“Office politics” can ruin your career if you don’t pay attention to them.

A History of Women in Politics in Ghana 1957-1992
A History of Women in Politics in Ghana 1957-1992
This work examines the history of Ghanaian women’s involvement in the politics of the country prior to the launch of the Fourth Republic in January, 1993. The political history of Ghana prior to 1993 showcases experience with various political systems. Ghana, for example, had the experience of life under Prime Ministers, Presidents and Military Heads of State. Within all these experimental and sometimes even purely adventurous environments, women played various roles. The roles, but, dif

What does this song mean?
Question by KayRoach. (:: What does this song mean?
It’s calld Lyrical Lie by Cute is What we Aim For
Lyrics:
An ancient man gave me a tip he said
“Don’t waste your time with politics” he said
“Just chase skirts instead”
“Life is too small, and you’re nearly dead” he said
“I met a woman once, I gave her my best shot”
“But never did I talk and talk and talk”
“If I had her back, I’d be as real as my age”
“I so don’t blame them, I wouldn’t do the same”
“But I can blame them, I’d sing her this”
And you want to be dressed in poetry
But imagery doesn’t fit
And you want resizing
But darling dear get a grip
And I reckon what I just wrote is going over my head
I’m stealing lines from myself
And what I said was never said
It’s just a lyrical lie
Made up in my mind
You’re moving but not aware
You’re drowsy without a care
Except keeping your whites behind your lids
And your lids are your best canvas
I can only imagine what you’re painting, what you’re painting
And your body on my mattress is proof
And your makeup on my pillow is proof
But do you reckon I am telling you the truth
What do you reckon it means, because I have no thought.

Why did I get a thumbs down?
Question by Christopher: Why did I get a thumbs down?
Ok I posted this as an answer to a question on here dealing with Sarah Palin and President Obama:
Palin is a joke.
I am a republican. I side more “right wing” with military and economic issues and more liberal with social issues. Basically a libertarian even.
Anyways, I’ll get back to my point. As i said Sarah Palin was never meant to be a strong political player. She was a last ditch effort by John McCain to look “hip” and “progressive.” This last presidential election was about appearing “progressive.” For the first time in our history the front-runners of a major political party were a woman and an African-American.
IMO things like that should NEVER be taken into account for any reason. Too many people based their choice on Barack Obama’s race. Some voted for him because he was black and him winning would set a precedent. Some voted against because they are racist.(on the other side of that im sure some people voted for him for the same reason) So, to answer your question Sarah Palin is nothing, she’s irrelevant.
I want to say a couple things slightly off-topic. When you use phrases like “brainwashed NeoCons” its hard to take you seriously. even though you seem well versed and educated, marks like that make it very likely that the majority of answers you get are going to be from “fringe extremists” (from both sides of the Aisle) saying things like; “Shut up Pinko Commie” and “**** BUSH” etc.
Winston Churchill once said that “The best argument against Democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter”

Ok What the hell did I say to get a thumbs down on a question asking for an opinion? I clear, concise, and polite about the whole ordeal. My political science teacher in college told me “If i go to a bar and tell people i’m a lawyer everyone wants legal advice but when i say im a political science professer they wanna give me advice on politics”

Do you like my story? So far….?
Question by Flyleaf is Life <3: Do you like my tale? So far….?
Fantastic, I’m moving again, another country, another school, another year of pure torture. All because of my stupid mom’s fantastic success of inventing. And you would reckon about mom’s having real frilly jobs, like cosmetology,or a wedding designer, or something around those careers. You know, it gets even more amusing, my dad works in a shoe store part-time. How clean.
“Anna, listen, sweetheart. You are going to have a fantastic time here. And plus, we will be here for more than a year this time. Isn’t that fantastic?” My mom tried to cheer me up. Not happening.
“Huh, a year. let’s have a party.” Sarcasm is one of my few talents, the other, irritating my parents so much, they’ve sent me to boarding school to supposedly help my attitude.Sure, let them dream.
“Okay, that is not really nice sweetie.” My mother was about to lose it, one more blow, and it was time for my dad to step in, ooh, scary.
“Just stop with the sweetie, Linda.” That did it, certainly.
“You are to never call me that!” Oh, yeah, this is what I call entertainment.
“Yeah, okay.” I really feel frightened. Excellent thing the cab stopped at the airport, or i might have died of fright.
“That’s 15.95 ma’am.” The cab driver so far was my friend, egging my dad on about politics.
“Uhm, you told me 10.50 last time.”
“Yeah yeah, you want me to raise it?”
“No, you told me 10.50.” she was turning red.
” Pay me, or i’m taking it to court!” Now, he’s my best friend.
She hesitated, and finally payed him. Yay for her. So, i got my suitcase, and headed inside the Jacksonville Airport. Our plane left in 1 hour, bye to my fifteenth home. It was flying to New York, and from ther, it was some foreign country.
“Anna, would you give me my carry-on, please.” Fantastic, my mom has three bags. I wonder if she packed her bubbly personality. All I packed was my last bit of dignity, a few items of clothing, and a excellent book.
We headed to the plane. I guess it was nice. I took out my book, and my glasses, and got on. After all the safety anouncments were over, the crew brought out a pink and purple cake, with 14 candles. The woman over the intercom announced it was my birthday, and the singing started.
“Mom!” i tried to make everyone on the plane hear it.
“What, dear?” She was so pleased, with her small pink lipgloss.
“You are ruining my life!” I’m pretty sure everyone heard it that time. So, i got up, and went to the back of the plane, no one was there. Just me, how i liked it. I took out my book, and read for a while, then i got bored, so i wrote, “My life is ruined” 200 times on a piece of paper. Which was right. We landed about 4 hours after that, and i got off, took my bag, and hid in the McDonalds restroom. It took my parents about 15 minutes before the plane left to that other country to find me. They were stupid enough to look in a Claire’s. How dumb. So then, we boarded that plane, and my parents were very miserable with me. How sad.
“Anna.” My mom was hesitating, again. I have an thought.
“Linda.” I gave her a small smirk.
“Listen, I’m very upset with you.”
“Huge shock.”
“Small lady, now you better,” I cut her off.
” What, are you going to get dad to give me a punishment warning? Ooh, you are a very frightening parent.” I smirked again.
Before she could say anything else, i was in another seat. I was real tired. So i fell asleep.
We must have had an ermegency landing, because we werent in the country my mom said we were going to, a sign said “Welcome to Gelick!” And my mom said we were going to Rome.
How does it sound so far? Should i continue, and add more on here, and let you read it, or is it terrible, and should i try another kind of tale?
please leave any comments, excellent or terrible. Thx.
Thx, any
ya know what cathrl, its fiction, i didnt say the candles were lit, AND, I said her mom was bubbly, and doesn’t get mad easily! so, if you want a perfect small tale about a small girl who is so perfect and never does anything incorrect, write one yourself! Q&A: Idea for a book?
Question by sister steph: Thought for a book?
I have an thought for a book and I want to know if it sounds excellent.
The main character is a woman lawyer for a preternatural lawfirm. Her husband (a vampire) is murdered. In her search to find the killer, she finds herself torn between staying faithful to the memory of her husband and the attentions of Eros (Greek god of lust) and a ‘Thrope. She despises ‘Thropes (werewolf, werecat, weredog, werearmadillo) by the way.
In her searching, she must still remain a mother to her daughter and a high profile lawyer. Her dead husband held a position in the vampire court, and she’s stuck learning “fanged politics” (which could have been what killed him).
Sound like a excellent tale? Starting tomorrow, I’m posting updates in my 360.
Spring Flower, my home computer got sick and killed my first draft (when will I learn to make back ups?). I’m stuck rewriting everything, so I can’t publish for maybe a year.
John B, it’s really going to be a series of books. I want it to fit into Supernatural Crime (romance takes a backseat for most of it). Some of the thoughts are explored in other books to not lump them all together. Example, the vampire politics is explored in one book and merely mentioned in others, as is the ‘Thrope community.
Treehugger (I like that name!), after some research, I found an odd Romanian superstition that stated that you can be born a vampire. It’s like a disease. They can have children, it’s just harder then normal.

Isn’t the Al Quaida due to be VERY VERY important lately?
Question by Right L: Isn’t the Al Quaida due to be VERY VERY vital lately?
In fact, as the presidentsil election gets closer and closer, you will notice Al Quida in the imminent news. “AL Qaida ready to strike the US again”, “Osama gathering followers to attack”, “Osama releases 152 nd video threatening the US will never have peace”, “US must not stop it’s war against Al Qaida”.
This will be in the news WHILE McCain says things like “If it were not for this winning war against Iraq Al Qaida would be in your supermarket!”, “We need someone in the White House who understands how to keep Alqaida out of your supermarkets and blowing them up”, “We need someone whose had experience fighting people JUST LIKE AL QAIDA and you KNOW who that is”.
At the near end of the campaign McCain will say “I don’t want to bring up the thought that Obama may be a BLACK MUSLIM…or that Clinton is a WOMAN married to Bill Clinton. I will not stoop to such politics”.
Welcome to America….the land of the free to be corrupt.

How can I approach a woman when I don’t really care of doing it?
Question by cdux: How can I approach a woman when I don’t really care of doing it?
I feel like I do want to have a relationship but I do want to avoid to have to deal with tedious “politics” of relations and “social status quo cliches”. I do have experience on them and I’m bored of them. The reason is dread but trying to avoid the tedious process of going into ritualistic traditions to “lure a female into a man’s arms”. I want it to be natural, I want it to be fun, I want it to be simple. Not simple in the terrible sense of the word, or simple in the sense that She doesn’t like it, not at all. Simple for both and pleased. Is it just related to the person? Do I have to wait till I see such a person? But I don’t see such a person! It’s nowhere to be found. Zero.

I chose a BA containing a wrong assumption of Aristotle’s ideas. What should I do now?
Question by Kore Herakliteia: I chose a BA containing a incorrect assumption of Aristotle’s thoughts. What should I do now?
Doctor Y mentioned in his answer to my question “Do you like Aristotle” that Aristotle “supported slavery and justified that women are inherently inferior to men”. That is not acceptable as it was Plato who expressed such views in his “Politics” and “Timaeus”. Aristotle DID NOT express such views in any of his works. Nevertheless, I forgot that vital detail and gave Doctor Y the BA.
Apparently, I acted quite stupid and got deceived so easily. But the BA has been given and only in case my question “Do you like Aristotle” gets deleted could the situation be reversed. But, what can I do to reverse my mistake, though only partially?
… Anyway, next time I must be more careful and sober when judging answers.

miss california and gay marriage- Atheists she deserves respect, christians shes an example to you.?
Question by Bluto Blutarsky72: miss california and gay marriage- Atheists she deserves respect, christians shes an example to you.?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090422/ap_en_ot/people_miss_california_perez_hilton;_ylt=AskhNvHjSIj080jBeLItuThxFb8C
you know, despite the controversy of gay marriage, i reckon here it was a witch hunt, and while it is honestly obvious that the contest was rigged,
(there is NO way that a woman from california is beating out a woman from new york),
people are crapping on her for having the backbone to state her beliefs in the face of a gay judge costing her the contest in the face of an obvious bias.
quite frankly- she was questioned what she believes, not what the law is or should be-
she even acknowledged about choice, part of choice is being able to disagree even if it is unpopular.
time and again i’ve said its incorrect to not allow gay marriage, but its also incorrect to disallow someone’s beliefs even if those beliefs are foolish-
isn’t this is an example of what a christian should be, separating her beliefs, from what is right? separating them from politics- they questioned her the question and then tell her to keep her “politics” out of the contest?
if they didnt’ want her opinion, they shouldnt’ have questioned her.
she might be a delusional religious whackjob, but so long as she is not pushing legislation (which she is not), doesn’t she have the right to her opinion?
she also takes carefull note (CHRISTIANS PAY ATTENTION HERE- THIS IS WHY I GIVE HER RESPECT AND NOT Y/A CHRISTIANS),
that she QUALIFIES her statements as “for me” and “my BELIEFS”.
and how screwed up is a “beauty” contest that focuses on more than her breasts and butt.
no one cares what these women have to say and no one wants to see how they can play violin. beauty contests are about how excellent they look. maybe when america and the world regained sight of that then these things would really have some legitimacy again.
how right you are “jesus is appaling” if the contest calls for “beauty” then that is what should be judged, we don’t judge music contests based upon how well the performers can play basketball.
if she wants to join a talent contest- nothing is stopping her. (slapping you back with your sarcasm to show its foolishness)

no i owuld not but your analagy fails for the simple fact that blacks were denied all manner of rights and were not treated equally under the laws in more respects than one. also we are not talking about limiting basic rights- no one HAS to get married (gay or straight), it is a fundamental right, but as far as ranking goes- education is higher.
an appropriate analogy quesiton would be: “do you approve of interracial marriage?”.
many people are missign the difference here between “opinion of whether or not a person SHOULD have the right to do something” and “do YOU approve of that something”.
its really the same as the pro choice argument, just becasue a woman has a irght to have an abortion, doesn’t mean that an individual woman who supported the right pro-choice, approves of women really having an abortion.

Are all housewives this sheltered and stupid?
Question by : Are all housewives this sheltered and stupid?

Look at this quote as justification for why more women don’t enter politics
from Blue Eyed Christian:
“It isn’t motherhood; men with kids are in politics.”
Men don’t have 1/10th of the responsibilities when it comes to parenthood that women do, Since the average father is just a glorified sperm donor, why would someone pretend that a father’s responsibilities would come close to cutting into their worklife as much as a mother’s. Is this just denial or are these women really this out of touch with reality?
Bonus Question: Since men have fewer responsibilities, doesn’t it make sense that they should be regarded as less than when it comes to issues of parenting (i.e. choice making, custody)?
@Jonus: So, let me see if I know this correctly. You and the other men on here reckon that if a woman doesn’t take equal responsibility she shouldn’t have equal rights. But if a man doesn’t take equal responsibility, he still deserves equal rights. How is that honest?
“I can believe that mother is the best fitting parent in 60-65% of the cases but certainly not in 90%”
Oh really? Well,I know men who don’t even know what day their children was born, let alone have the ability to take responsibility. Excuse me if I reckon 60% is a conservative estimate.
“Anyway, your tone seems somewhat softer, you lost the bitterness you had – what gives?”
Well, I guess it’s just exhausting being mad all the time. I can only keep it up for stretches at a time.
@BEC: I don’t even know how you can argue that women do far more work raising children. To pretend that men are judged for abandoning family responsibilities anywhere near the extent that women are, is just denying the obvious.

It’s right that most mothers do more than 80% housechores and child raising, but some luckier women, who have brilliant husbands, may not be aware of this fact. It’s not necessary to debase them for expressing their honest opinions, that’s what democracy is all about. It’s vital to learn how to respect others, even when one was issued from a dysfunctional violent family, it’s never too late.
