Similarities between Country and Rap music?
Question by karen_faustino: Similarities between Country and Rap music?
Would you agree or disagree that at the lowest common denominator rap music and country music are in many ways the same, they just originate at opposite ends of the racial spectrum. Both are made largely by and for people from the lowest rungs on the socio-economic ladder and embrace and celebrate a lack of social sophistication. Both embrace the racial slurs once hurled at them. In country music it is commonplace to hear something like “HELL YEAH TO ALL MY REDNECKS!” in rap music “YEEAAH N*GGA!” Furthermore, the way in which fans of each type of music defend their preferences is nearly identical as well. When an unbiased person hears a rap song about getting drunk, popping pills, degrading women and/or killing people they instinctively recognize it as trash. But if they were to try to clarify this to a fan of such music they would be met with arguments such as “They’re just keeping it real” or “They’re just exposing the right nature of life on the streets.” Likewise, when an unbiased person hears a drunken, confederate flag waving, rebel yelling country song advocating a life of simple mindedness and backwards redneck ways they instinctively identify it as garbage. Yet if they were to make an effort to point this out to a fan of that kind of music they would likely be met with a defense of “They don’t mean no harm, they’re just some excellent ol’ boys” or ” I can’t help it, I’m just too damn country!”
I like some hip hop, and there is some older country that I like as well, it just seems that most of what has become commonplace in either genre is an absolute disgrace and insult to their respective histories and origins. What do you reckon?

I’ll assume you’re talking about on the radio…
Rap and country are at their bases, lyrical storytelling. They both deal in hardships and struggles. They’re both meant to teach.
Rap has lost all of this ftmp. Country still does all of it in a lot of cases, just not as much. Both genres are watered down these days(especially rap…)
It’s all about greed and nothing more these days(on the marks’ and artists’ parts)…but a change will come…
Could you imagine this track on the radio these days:

Anyone sick of VH1 airhead women dating shows?
Question by Crystal Sunshine: Anyone sick of VH1 airhead women dating shows?
Whatever happen to “Save the Music” now it’s more like Stop the music. Are there any wives out there that are annoyed with all these shows like Bret Michael’s Rock Of Like garbage. It seems like that’s all that’s happening to MTV and VH1. Where’s all the music? I’m frustrated that in the New Year my husband will be watching nothing but implanted bimbos jumping around for attention. It’s yucky, what’s next…uncensored things? Any other women out there sick of her man watching this crap daily in front of you?

Answer by MrsShiftyShellshock<3!
Apparently, anyone can get their own show nowadays. This is starting to get sickening, but its addicting! Shows like Lguna Beach and the Hills, i refuse to watch. But rock of like, double shot at like, those are addicting!

Men / Women over 40…. need opinions…?
Question by astutewoman: Men / Women over 40…. need opinions…?
A 41 yr ancient divorced father of two kids – in a long term committed relationship w mom of two kids also — plotting long-term future together — you leqve your laptop at home and need to use his laptop with his permission – to find a previous ebay item you bid on — so you go through history – but before you scroll down to your item – you notice he has been searching things like “how to be a player”… “how to pick up younger women” and “strip club music” — plus grooming tips and clothes..
He is going out of town next weekend for a guy work trip…
first impression on this? Mid-life crisis? Bored? Looking to cheat?
Would you end it no explanation – talk to him? (already questioned him he if was pleased and he said yes, why am I being insecure…– gee, I don’t know WHY – maybe because a man says he likes me, has spent over a year with me and my children – my children like him – and now I am wondering if he is going to seek validation through other women?) — ? Do I merely hint around – or let the phase pass and just play dumb? Confront him — then will he not just erase history and act like its not huge deal..?? Please honest answers – be nice… I’m about to have a meltdown… I am excellent to this man, but not a doormat.. we have fun together… we share similar values – OR SO I THOUGHT…
I feel like just walking away from this insanity… I just want to be pleased.. but feel so stupid..
What the heck..

Why has there seemed to be a “hush-hush” about this song’s meaning?
Question by chris: Why has there seemed to be a “hush-hush” about this song’s meaning?
This country music song was recorded within the past twenty years. The song is a celebration of a suicide-homicide where the woman in the song murders her husband (homicide) and kills herself (suicide), thereby forcing their kid to become custody of social services. The woman in the song sets the house on fire (arson), murdering her husband (homicide) and killing herself (suicide) in the process. A strong, hard beat enhances the celebratory effect.
At first, radio stations across the country banned the song from airplay. And for excellent reason: it celebrated violence, homicide, and suicide.
But then, it somehow gained popularity — not just in the “country music” world but elsewhere. Which song is this and why has there seemed to be a “hush-hush” about the song? How has the 800-pound elephant in the room managed to avoid criticism and become a country music anthem? What larger symbol could there be in today’s society of the normalization of murder?
The song is “Independence Day” and was originally recorded by Martina McBride. Why did she do it? Why do we smile and accept it? Have values died?
Best answer:
Answer by Tyler Durden
I don’t know what song it is, but this song shows whats incorrect with society.

Q&A: Metalhead guys being attracted to the stereotypical “sweet girl next door”/ Girls going for that kind of guy?
Question by Me: Metalhead guys being attracted to the stereotypical “sweet girl next door”/ Girls going for that kind of guy?
I’m a huge metalhead into stuff like Cynic, Atheist, Opeth and other assorted metal bands that normally get lumped in the “scary devil music” pile and I dress the part as well… The part I find weird though is that I’m nearly always not attracted to that in a women… I’ve always preferred the “sweet girl next door” as mentioned in the title aka the cliche “beauty and the beast” type thing… so what I am asking is if any other guys have this sort of thing going on and if girls would ever go for that type of person… Oh and I’m more of an introvert than my image may project…

Do you think my baby is “gifted”, or am I just being one of those moms who…?
Question by Heidi H: Do you reckon my baby is “gifted”, or am I just being one of those moms who…?
thinks there kid is so special but they are really just normal? I am annoyed with myself for thinking he is so special, because I have always thought those women were so annoying. I don’t say anything to anyone about it … but i seen other kids at the park his same age and and they just say barely anything. He has been talking full sentences since 12 months ancient, and sings tons of songs and dances…and makes up his own songs that are pretty excellent. Also, his vocabulary is better than some adults I know. He also vert articulate and logical… for instance, yesterday, he called his dad “Frank” his first name. I said “why did you call him Frank instead of daddy?” An his answer was “because Frank is his name, daddy is just his title”… well here is a link to a movie of him singing Do-Re-Mi from “The Sound of Music”.. He was 28 months ancient in this video. Let me know what you reckon? Is this normal for a 2 year ancient?

He is too cute. Yeah, I reckon you could say he’s special, at least in the area of language development.

India Cultural Tours: Discover Jaipur!
India Cultural Tours: Learn Jaipur!
If tourism experts have to name only one city in India that is teeming with culture and vibrancy, it will without a doubt be the city of Jaipur. Located in the western state of Rajasthan, Jaipur, or the Pink City as it is famously known,is one of the premier tourist destinations in India. Replete with forts, palaces, monuments, bazaars, lakes and parks, this city is a traveler’s paradise come right. From the Amber fort, the Jaigarh Fort and the City Palace Jaipur to the Nahargarh Fort, Jantar Mantar and Hawa Mahal, the opportunities for sightseeing are endless. Apart from all the places to visit and sights to see, there is the lure of the rich culture of Jaipur. If you are interested in signing up for India cultural tours, Jaipur is a fantastic option.
One of the best ways to absorb the culture of Jaipur is by signing up for India cultural tours and attending the various events organized in Jaipur, visiting the historically and culturally rich places and spending time around the city. One of the best ways to gain an understanding of the city’s culture is to attend the various festivals that are organized here. Jaipur is well-known for the year round festivals. The Kite Festival, Elephant Festival, Teej Festival and Gangaur Festival are some of the most well loved ones. These events are full of festivity, celebration, color and gaiety. Each of these festivals has its own past and tradition. By attending these tourists can make merry with the locals and learn more about the background of culture in Jaipur.
One of the most prominent aspects of culture within the city can be observed in the local people’s manner of dressing. Since Rajasthan is a desert state, the cities are dry, barren, dusty and often warm. Given the subdued and earthy hues of the surroundings, it has become a tradition amongst the folk to wear bright and cheery colored clothes. So, in Jaipur the women wear the traditional dress of ghagra-choli (a long flowy skirt-like garment complemented by a shorter blouse) in bright colors like orange, purple, red, yellow and green. These festive hues are complemented by gota (gilded fabric), silver or gold zari embroidery work and small glasswork on the garments. The men complement the simple kurta-pyjama (a simple tunic and pants) with brightly colored turbans in the bandhej prints (tie and dye). Jewelry is very well loved amongst the people, and women wear multi-colored glass bangles all the way till their elbows and chunky silver earrings and anklets. Wearing earrings is also common amongst the men.
The folk dance and music traditions are an integral part of the culture of Jaipur. The “Ghoomar” dance is the prominent folk dance form of Jaipur, known for the bright costumes worn by the women. Where music is concerned, the Morchang, Sarangi, Tanpura and Naad are well loved instruments.
Where the culture of language is concerned, Rajasthani is the prominent language of the city. But, tourists will find it simple to get around and communicate with the locals as Hindi and English are also understood and spoken in the city, along with Marwari.

The Seductive Power of Man’s Flirting Tools – What are They?
The Seductive Power of Man’s Flirting Tools – What are They?
Presuming you have an opportunity to flirt. How do you want to go about it? One of the simplest approaches is to pretend you are a palm reader! This gives you a smooth access to touch her hand and coo into her ears some romantic nothings.
What does the future hold for me? Women like to hear this, from as many people as possible. Though claiming gallantly that they don’t believe in this sort of archaic stuff…but a tarot reader, an astrologist or a handwriting expert, they will be the first ones to cue in front of them. So why not pretend to be one of those experts, and tell them things they like to hear. Right from “you are too sentimental”, to “no body has understood you properly so far”, lines like these sell.
Try to carry with you or wear on you something, that intrigues them, makes them curious or arouses the mother instinct them. For instance, babies. Most women like them but make sure she does not go home thinking the baby is yours! Some women question point blank, whose is it, if they are keen to know you further. Or else, wear an fascinating hat, or some other props which invite a question. I remember meeting a man in a bar, who kept on licking his nose tip with his tongue. He didn’t go home alone that night!
To stand out and draw her attention, you have to do something which is slightly rare and she does not come across often. Like magic. It is an incredible tool to start the flirting game. Learn a few card tricks and show off. First it displays your level of confidence, secondly it makes you somewhat exotic.
The next best thing that appeals to a majority of women is music. And musicians. Sing your way through to her heart, or play the mandolin or guitar and strum away. You not only romanticize your date but what a wonderful way to flirt, using someone else’s lyrics, another one’s music! You can sometimes tell her what you feel like telling her, through a song. Other talents include juggling, origami, painting etc. But the crux of the matter is having a skill and use it as a flirting tool.
Rule number one: Don’t try this with a woman who could be working for a Market Research Agency. Rule number two: Don’t try this if you do not have a generous gift of the gab. But if you are truly bold (not necessarily gorgeous) try this trick. Reckon up a sham survey on dating. Target a few women, walk up to them and question their views on dating. Normally nobody refuses a survey, because at that instant, they feel vital and their views worthy. Immediately afterwards, question for their phone number and e mail address with the excuse of a possible “follow-up”. Rest is your way of working through the whole project. But be very careful; if you stammer, falter or even buckle under pressure, you could earn a terrible reputation (or a black eye!).
There are innumerable innovative ways of getting to know women. The whole issue here is to find your comfort area and operate from there. Then shift out and work more. And last but not the least, reckon up more creative ways of your own, taking a cue from the market survey as above.
