Stereotypes and social imageries are hard to die. And still exist ancient thoughts of a “proper woman” or a “proper man”.
How much these models are different and no more actual from/in everyday life?

No one fits into stereotypes perfectly -that’s why they are stereotypes and not examples
I can’t even gauge where I fit.
What do you reckon? Answer below!

This is one of the largest nuisances in my life! I do not fit the ideal – I am huge, loud, confident, assertive, outspoken etc. I am sure that if I were the opposite life would be a bit simpler. Certainly the older generation like to see women in the ‘right’ roles, and men too of course, and it is my firm belief that gender stereotypes are really harmful and oppressive to men and women.
They are still very much seen as ideals in the mainstream and that is why I try to steer clear of the mainstream
*sigh*…
in just about every way possible.
It’s gone. There is no such thing as a ‘stereotypical’ woman, man, or child. People are… just that; individual people – and I reckon our society finally got the message. We have so many choices now that were unheard of even a generation ago.
The only things that make me a stereotypical woman are:
1. I wear feminine clothes and makeup.
2. I don’t want to get involved in sports, science, math, technology, law enforcement, the military, or any other profession with small emphasis on verbal intelligence.
3. I’m straight.
Thre was never any such thing as a stereotypical woman or a stereotypical man. You’re making it up.
Anyone can be labled as “steryotypes” in some way or another. I reckon the mold of a “proper women” or a “proper man” has become a figment of our imagination and something maybe the “TV” has taught us to reckon. But I do belive lots of things are still labeled as “stereotypical” maybe just not man and women. (Being what one would call proper)
People call a stereotypical woman these days a liberated bitch. And they may call stereotypical men “male showvanist pigs” ya see what I’m getting at?
